Honda Amaze Scores 4 Stars in Global NCAP Crash Test

An Indian-made Honda Amaze that is sold in Africa scored an impressive 4 stars in the latest round of Global NCAP safety tests. The Honda Amaze was tested along with the made-in-India Suzuki Ignis as part of the Safer Cars for Africa campaign. The Ignis scored a decent 3 stars in the crash test.
The base-spec version of the Amaze sold in Africa was used for the test. The car comes with dual airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners and a driver seatbelt reminder as standard. The Indian-spec also offers more or less similar safety kit along with the addition of a speed warning system.
The overall score for the scored scored 12.51/17 during the test conducted as a part of Safer Cars for India campaign. Going by the report, the protection offered for the front occupants' heads and necks was good. Chest protection was rated adequate while the knees showed marginal protection as they could impact structures behind the dashboard. Bodyshell rating was stable as NCAP says it is capable of withstanding further crashes.
