Hyundai Grand i10

The is finally available with a factory-fitted CNG kit. Available for private buyers, the Grand i10 CNG is sold in just one variant - Magna - and is priced at Rs 6.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Capable of being powered by either petrol or CNG, the new variant is priced at a premium of Rs 67,000 over the standard petrol-only variant. Earlier, the CNG option was only available in the Grand i10's Prime variant, which was only sold to fleet operators at a price of Rs 5.4 lakh. The new CNG variant could soon become a good alternative to the Grand i10's diesel variants as the latter is expected to become more expensive once BS6 emission norms take effect on 1 April 2020.

While the 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT engine in the petrol-only variants produces 83PS of power, the dual-fuel version of the same engine only makes 66.3PS in CNG mode. When it comes to the torque output, the petrol-only variant churns out 114Nm, while the CNG variant produces 110Nm in petrol mode and 98Nm in CNG mode. The Grand i10 Magna CNG is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Since the Grand i10 Magna sits one above the base-spec Era variant, it doesn't get bells and whistles such as Hyundai's smart key, rear parking camera, LED DRLs or alloy wheels. But it does get driver and passenger airbags, roof rails, an audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted controls, four speakers and a manual AC. However, this variant misses out on rear parking sensors and a speed alert system, both of which are features which will soon become mandatory on all cars in India. Expect an update in the coming months.

The Grand i10 rivals the likes of the. The addition of the CNG variant gives the Grand i10 an edge over its rivals, especially for users whose daily commute is longer than average.
