has been spotted testing ahead of its upcoming launch in India. The Duster facelift has been spotted completely undisguised in a new blue shade at the Zoji La mountain pass on the Srinagar-Leh highway.

The spy shots reveal subtle cosmetic changes to the exterior of the Duster. Changes include a redesigned front fascia, reprofiled bonnet, reworked front bumpers and the addition of LED DRLs and projector headlamps. The front grille also gets a makeover with more chrome surrounds. At the rear, the Duster gets new roof rails as well as black padding on the tailgate. It also gets new alloy wheels.

Inside, the updated Duster will get a new seat fabric as well as an updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Its safety features are expected to consist of dual front airbags, ABS, parking sensors and speed warning as standard on all variants.

Under the hood, the updated Duster will retain its 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel options, which are expected to be updated to meet the BS6 norms that will come into effect in 2020. The 1.5-litre petrol variant delivers 106PS of power and 142Nm of torque. Its 1.5-litre diesel counterpart puts out 110PS of power and 248 Nm of torque. The petrol variant will be mated to a 5-speed manual or CVT auto transmission as an option. Its diesel counterpart will continue to get a 6-speed manual or an AMT as an option. The fate of the 85PS diesel variant is still unknown.

With its safety upgrades as well as engine alterations for BS6 norms, we can expect the Duster facelift to be priced slightly higher than the previous iteration of the Duster.

The 2nd generation Duster was launched last year internationally and sports significant design updates inside out. However, Renault India is likely to soldier on with the facelifted version of the Duster till much after the BS6 norms kick in. The Duster facelift will compete against rivals like the when launched.
