2020 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Spotted Testing

, the largest SUV from the Czech manufacturer, is all set to get a mid-life facelift. The SUV started its life in 2016, but it did not arrive in India until 2018. The Kodiaq facelift was spotted testing in Europe for the first time, albeit with camouflage up front and at the rear. Here's what we can deduce from the spied images.

Despite heavy camouflage, the new front bumper design is evident while the grille looks similar to the existing SUV. The headlights also look more or less the same as the ones on the current version. The front fender was seen sporting a "Sportline" badge, which explains the bigger and sportier wheels. Coming to the rear, the camouflage hides most of the changes, but we believe it will come with a different rear bumper design and tweaked tail lamps as well.

The SUV was also spotted towing test equipment which could be used to test a new powertrain. As for engines, the flagship SUV is expected to get the 2.0 TDI Evo diesel which is available in various states of tune ranging from 136PS up to 204PS. The SUV is also likely to get a new PHEV setup similar to the Superb iV. In the sedan, the electric motor is paired to a 1.4-liter TSI 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed DSG. The 1.4-litre TSI unit produces 156PS while the electric motor pushes out 115PS for a combined output of 218PS. Expect the Kodiaq to to get the same set of tune.with the facelfited Kodiaq when it comes to India.

The maximum range of the Kodiaq PHEV is expectedto be similar to the in India. The Kodiaq Scout is a much more rugged version of the standard SUV. The Czech manufacturer is also bringing in the smaller Kamiq for India and we can expect it somewhere around mid-2020. The Kodiaq is currently priced between Rs. 35.37 lakh to Rs 36.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
