Revolt Electric Motorcycle Launch Date Confirmed

  • It is all set to be India’s first all-electric motorcycle.
  • Early rumours suggest top speed is capped at 85kmph.
  • It will be heavily localised and will receive FAME II subsidies.

As the counter on its official website ticks away, Revolt Intellicorp is all set to launch its first product on 18 June. We have seen quite a few electric scooters in the market, like the Ather 450, Okinawa Praise and others, but this is going to be the first electric motorcycle to go on sale in India.

Brainchild of Micromax CEO, Rakesh Sharma, the bike from Revolt has already received an ARAI certification where it managed to go 156km on a full charge. The motorcycle is rumoured to have a top speed of 85kmph (restricted) which is pretty quick for a motorcycle that aims to go up against the likes of conventional 125cc motorcycles.

An earlier report claimed that the bike is 75 per cent localised in its current state and will be fully localised by the end of FY2020. This will also be the first of three products that Revolt will launch in India.

If the above is to be believed, the Revolt motorcycle should not have any problem in adhering to FAME II scheme. By reaping the benefits of the scheme, the on-road cost of the motorcycle could likely be lesser than Rs 1 lakh.
