South Korean carmaker Hyundai has unveiled the production version of its Mufasa SUV, which was earlier showcased as a concept at the Auto Expo 2020 in India. The Hyundai Mufasa SUV has been developed by the company's Indian subsidiary and is expected to be launched in the Indian market in the coming months.


Exterior Design and Features


The production version of the Hyundai Mufasa SUV looks quite similar to the concept showcased earlier, with a bold and muscular design that is expected to appeal to Indian buyers. The SUV gets a large chrome grille, LED headlights with DRLs, a sculpted front bumper, and large air intakes.

Under the hood, the Hyundai Mufasa SUV is expected to be offered with two engine options. The base variant will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 157 bhp and 192 Nm of torque. The higher-spec variant will get a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 143 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Both engines are likely to come paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, with an automatic transmission option also available.


Price and Competition


Hyundai has not yet revealed the price of the Mufasa SUV, but it is expected to be priced competitively to take on rivals such as the Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, and MG Hector in the Indian market. The Mufasa is expected to go on sale in India in the coming months and will be manufactured at Hyundai's plant in Tamil Nadu.
